Biography
Dr. Gabriel Arcila is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he has been a faculty member since 2016. He currently serves as Section Chief of the Department of Radiology’s Inpatient Satellite Division.
Dr. Arcila earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 2002 and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center. He then pursued a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine, serving as Chief Resident, followed by a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, he has additional subspecialty certification in Nuclear Medicine.
Before joining UM full-time, Dr. Arcila gained extensive clinical experience in South Florida, holding leadership positions such as Director of Nuclear Medicine at Doral Imaging Institute and practicing as a diagnostic radiologist at multiple regional hospitals and imaging centers. He also co-founded itMD, LLC, a radiology technology company, reflecting his interest in innovation at the intersection of imaging and technology.
Dr. Arcila is a member of the American College of Radiology and is committed to advancing patient care through clinical excellence and multidisciplinary collaboration. His work bridges nuclear medicine and diagnostic radiology, with a focus on providing high-quality imaging services across UHealth and Jackson Memorial Hospital. -
