Biography
Dr. Fabio Paes obtained his medical degree from Universidade Federal da Bahia in Brazil in 2005. He completed his internship, Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine residency at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, becoming board certified in Diagnostic Radiology in 2013. Upon graduation, he joined a private multi-specialty group in South Florida where he became their first Radiology Department Medical Director. Dr. Paes then obtained his MBA degree in Healthcare Administration at Florida International University in 2016. He joined University of Miami in July 2016, becoming a full-time faculty in ER/Trauma Imaging Division. Dr. Paes is an Associate Professor in Clinical Radiology and currently holds the position of the Director of Quality and Patient Safety for the Radiology Department. -

Teaching Interests
Dr. Paes is part of the core teaching faculty of the ER/Trauma imaging division, participating actively of the teaching and training of University of Miami medical student, radiology residents and fellows. He is also the current Fellowship Director for the 4-year American Board of Radiology (ABR) fellowship pathway for the department. -
Research Interests
Dr. Paes research interests include utilization and appropriateness of imaging studies in the emergency room, imaging evaluation of acute trauma patients, and automated use of Artificial Intelligence algorithms for imaging detection and quantification of traumatic findings. -
