Edda Rodriguez is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Department of Public Health Sciences. She is a Latina prevention scientist passionate about addressing her community's health needs.
Dr. Rodriguez applies implementation science, social network, and qualitative approaches to address health disparities experienced by underserved and vulnerable populations. In her National Institutes of Mental Health Diversity Supplement, Dr. Rodriguez used an intersectionality perspective to explore PrEP use and PrEP stigma in Latinx men who have sex with men. She has also completed research examining the impact of Hurricane Michael in vulnerable rural communities in Florida.
Dr. Rodriguez’s current research focuses on using Implementation Science to address the mental and sexual health needs of underserved and vulnerable populations throughout Florida.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Public Health from Florida State University. She also received her Ph.D. in Prevention Science and Community Health from the University of Miami.
