Biography
Dr. Monterey was raised in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology at Michigan State University on an athletic (baseball) and academic scholarship. He subsequently went on to complete his medical degree at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine where he graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha distinction. He completed Neurosurgical residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston at Memorial Hermann Hospital part of the Texas Medical Center. During his final year of residency, he completed a fellowship in Spinal Deformity. After completion of his residency, he went on to complete a second spine fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery at the University of Miami.
Dr. Monterey's goal is to provide patient specific solutions to complex spinal pathologies with the use of the latest technology and techniques to maximize patient outcomes. -
