Dr. Dora Fernandez was born in Havana, Cuba, and pursued her medical education at the University of Seville, Spain. She completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Maryland/Mercy Hospital and later continued her pediatric residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she also served as Chief Resident.
With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Fernandez has made significant contributions to the field of neonatology. She served as the Head of the Intermediate Care Unit and Division of Neonatology for 20 years and has been an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology throughout her career.
Currently, Dr. Fernandez works in the NICU/D Division of Neonatology, where she continues to share her expertise by teaching medical students during their NICU clerkship. Her passion for neonatology and dedication to education has made her a respected mentor and leader in the medical community
