Dr. Dirk Homann is a physician and immunologist/virologist trained in Berlin, Boston, Paris, and La Jolla. He started his independent career at the University of Colorado, moved to Mount Sinai in New York in 2014 where he became a tenured Professor in 2019, and recently joined the DRI. Dr. Homann’s work focuses on T cell immunity in autoimmune and infectious diseases, with an emphasis on T1D. His research integrates T cell and pancreatic islet cell biology with the overarching aim to develop immunomodulatory strategies for T1D prevention and reversal.
