Dr. Lim received her medical degree from Loma Linda University. Her lab participates in two areas of research:
1. Lung Cancer: The Lim Lab is a translational research lab that utilizes clinically relevant mouse models of sleep apnea and lung cancer. The team studies the effect of cyclical intermittent hypoxia, the underlying pathology of obstructive sleep apnea, on the immune system and its subsequent effect on lung cancer progression and metastases.
2. Sleep: The lab aims to develop novel biomarkers of sleep including physiological, neuroimaging and blood biomarkers (currently, only clinically) using machine learning approaches. Eventually, they hope to extend our work to mice to understand the mechanisms underlying these biomarkers.
