Biography
Diana Byrnes, M.D., MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She is triple board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and medical oncology. She specializes in the management and study of non-neoplastic hematologic disorders, including hemostasis, thrombosis and other non-malignant hematologic conditions. Special areas of interest and expertise includes bleeding disorders, thrombotic thrombocytopenia purpura, immune thrombocytopenia, disorders of iron homeostasis, and autoimmune hemolytic anemia. She is a member of the hemophilia treatment center and the HHT center of excellence. She conducts research in several topics in non-malignant hematology including studies in anticoagulation in pregnant patients and anticoagulation in patients with cancer. She earned a dual degree in medicine and public health from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The also completed internal medicine residency and hematology-oncology fellowship training at the University of Miami. -
