Dr. Mandel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy since 2010. He is a three time graduate from the University of Miami, beginning in 1988 for undergraduate education and completing his final degree in 2009. He teaches integumentary and acute care patient management in the professional entry-level DPT program as well as in the sports, ortho, neuro, cardiopulmonary, and pediatric physical therapy residency programs. Dr. Mandel’s research focuses on physical impairments and function limitations in individuals with chronic muscle wasting disease, in particular post-liver transplant, and post-stem cell transplant. Dr. Mandel Chairs the admissions committee for the entry level professional DPT program. He has 26 years of clinical practice experience in the Acute Care setting rotating between wound care, trauma, ICU, cardiopulmonary surgery, general medical/telemetry, orthopedic, and neurological surgery units.
