Dr. Kushner’s research primarily focuses on the clinical rehabilitation process to understand factors affecting outcome/recovery after Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Guillain Barre Syndrome, and various other neurologic conditions. His research work also includes dysphagia in stroke and TBI. Other research interests also include history of medicine topics such as ancient trepanation.
Dr. Kushner is published on traumatic brain injuries, stroke, and other neurological disorders, as well as presents on these topics at conferences nationally and internationally. He is the author of peer review journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters. He serves as a reviewer for several national/international/ peer reviewed medical journals. He also serves as the Grand rounds Program director for the University of Miami Department of Physical medicine & rehabilitation.
