David H Kerman, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston. His postdoctoral training includes an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University in Chicago, IL, followed by a year as Chief Resident in the Department of Medicine at Rush. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He spent 6 years as the Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Program at UM/Jackson. He now is the Chief Medical Officer for the UM Department of Medicine and spends time working in clinical operations within the Chair’s Office. His clinical expertise focuses on complex Inflammatory Bowel Disease and recurrent C difficile infection. At the UM Crohn’s and Colitis Center, Dr Kerman sees patients from South Florida, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. He serves as Primary Investigator and Co-investigator on the latest clinical trials for patients with IBD.
