The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a single dose of ex vivo base edited, autologous CD34+ human hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) inpatients with severe SCD. The product is called BEAM-101. It causes deletion in the participant's genes allowing hemoglobin F to increase.
