David Coffey, M.D. is a computational oncologist specializing in the study and treatment multiple myeloma, a blood cancer affecting the antibody-producing plasma cells. His research investigates how multiple myeloma cancer cells interact with the body’s immune system. By utilizing advanced multi-omic single-cell analyses of the immune system alongside DNA sequencing of tumor cells, he aims to uncover why the immune system may sometimes fail to stop myeloma from progressing. Through this work, Dr. Coffey seeks to identify innovative strategies to empower the immune system to eliminate myeloma more effectively.
