Biography
I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. I am the oldest of three of an intact family. After finishing Catholic School education, completed 8 years of Medical School at Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University. Came to the US to do my residency training in Psychiatry at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY where I was appointed Chief Resident. After that, I relocated to Arkansas for three years to complete my 3-year J-1 visa waiver. It was a great experience since I was the only psychiatrist in 3 counties of rural Arkansas. Before to move to Miami, I worked for 3 years in Jacksonville, FL where I was adjunct Assistant Professor of University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville. I have been a faculty for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences for 6 years and it has been the greatest academic and research-oriented experience. I am currently married and I have 2 wonderful daughters.
