Dr. Daniel Nento is an internationally recognized pediatric cardiac surgeon with over 25 years of experience treating congenital heart defects in newborns, children, and adults. He currently serves as Co-Director and Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Pediatric ECMO Surgical Director at The Heart Center at Holtz Children’s Hospital and Jackson Memorial Health System. Dr. Nento earned his medical degree and completed his residency in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery in Argentina. He pursued advanced fellowships in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Heart Transplantation at the Cleveland Clinic and Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He has held leadership and academic positions at leading institutions, including Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Baylor College of Medicine, Rainbow Children’s Hospital, and Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Nento is a member of top surgical societies, a proctor for complex valve repairs, and has received numerous honors and awards in his field.
