Dr. Navarrete is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics. She obtained her medical degree in the Philippines, completed her pediatric residency training in New York and her fellowship training in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
In 2004, she joined the faculty of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Since then, she has been working as a clinical neonatologist, specializing in point-of-care ultrasound guided procedures and ECMO, while attending in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Holtz Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Navarrete is involved in teaching clinical neonatology to medical students, Pediatric & Med-Peds residents, and Neonatology fellows. She has been a member of both the residency and neonatal-perinatal fellowship selection committees and the NICU nutrition and growth outcomes improvement group. She has been site-Principal Investigator for several multicenter research trials.
