Dr. Connie Morrow is a Licensed Psychologist, Research Associate Professor of Pediatrics, and the Co-Director of the Perinatal CARE Program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She has more than two decades of experience implementing Maternal Child Health (MCH) research and service programs. She is the Principal Investigator of the HRSA funded Healthy Start Initiative, the Jasmine Project, focused on reducing racial-ethnic disparities in infant mortality and promoting maternal health in Miami-Dade (2010 – present). she is also the PI and Project Director for the UM Florida Healthy Start Program (1997 – present). Past funding as a PI includes the SAMHSA-funded initiative, Starting Early, Starting Smart, a randomized control trial of a multidisciplinary service integration model in the pediatric health care setting focused on improving outcomes for high-risk infants and families. Additionally, Dr. Morrow led the UM NIH/NIDA-funded longitudinal prenatal cocaine study for 15 years, serving as a Co-Investigator and Research Director. She has over 60 scientific abstracts and over 30 peer-reviewed publications emanating from these works. She also regularly presents on MCH topics including perinatal/postpartum depression, prescription drug abuse during pregnancy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome. She has presented at national, state and local conferences, and is a member of the Fetal Infant Mortality Review’s (FIMR) Community Action Group (CAG). She has also served as a past member of the American Psychological Association’s Committee for Children Youth and Families.
