Biography
Dr. Cibele Luna joined the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Department of Radiology as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology in July 2023. She completed multiple fellowships at Jackson Memorial Hospital, specializing in cardiothoracic imaging, nuclear medicine, cancer imaging, and body imaging. Her training also includes a diagnostic radiology residency at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, where she previously practiced as a radiologist and medical sonographer.
Dr. Luna’s clinical and research interests span oncologic imaging, women’s imaging, and advanced body imaging techniques. She has authored peer-reviewed publications on endometrial cancer, prostate imaging, and novel applications of ultrasonography, and has presented her work nationally and internationally, including at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the Society of Abdominal Radiology (SAR), and the Society of Gynecologic Oncology. She is an active member of the Society of Abdominal Radiology and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
Recognized for her academic excellence since medical school, Dr. Luna received the Society of Abdominal Radiology Trainee Travel Scholarship Award in 2021. She remains dedicated to advancing imaging techniques for gynecologic and oncologic diseases while mentoring the next generation of radiologists at the University of Miami. -
