Teaching Interests
I have been involved in numerous educational activities for medical students, residents and fellows. I have taught physical exam skills and general medicine topics to medical students, prior to becoming an attending. Within the medical school, I am the Pulmonary domain director for phase one, as well as a co-lead for phase three and the director of the critical care selective. On the wards, much of my teaching is hands on in the ICU with house staff, whether at the bedside or doing chalk-talks to teach them general topics in pulmonary and critical care medicine. -
Research Interests
My research interest is in the area of improving clinical outcomes in patients with critical illness. More specifically, I am interested in understanding the effects positive pressure has on respiratory mechanics and developing techniques to aid in improving survival in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). I collaborate with investigators in the Influenza and other respiratory viruses in the acutely ill (IVY) network to determine the efficacy of the COVID-19 and Influenza vaccines. -
