Biography
Dr. Carmen R. Jimenez is a Clinical Psychologist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami (UM) Miller School of Medicine. She holds Doctoral and Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and is a bi-lingual, licensed clinical psychologist and qualified mental health supervisor in the state of Florida. Dr. Jimenez completed an internship at Nicklaus Children's Hospital and a post-doctoral fellowship at St. Mary's Medical Center, both focused on pediatric health psychology and which included rotations in hematology-oncology consultation liaison. She has centered her clinical work with individuals and families around the areas of interpersonal relationships, grief and loss, trauma, and attachment. In her current role at the University of Miami (UM) Miller School of Medicine, she works with the patients of Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, providing psycho-oncology focused intervention and support throughout their health journey. Her professional interests further include the field of emotional and psychological well-being and teaching and providing clinical supervision to psychology trainees, medical students, and residents. -
