Biography
Carlos J. Lozada completed a B.A. in Biology at the University of Pennsylvania and his M.D. at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He pursued his residency in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital/Cornell University Medical College and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and completed his Rheumatology Fellowship at New York University Medical Center/Hospital for Joint Diseases.
He has been faculty in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine since 1994. For over 25 yrs, he has served as Director of the Rheumatology Fellowship Program and the Jackson Memorial Hospital Rheumatology Clinic. He has also served as Associate Chief for Education, Associate Chief for Clinical Affairs and Chief (interim) for the Division of Rheumatology.
Dr. Lozada has multiple peer reviewed publications and textbook chapters, particularly in the area of Osteoarthritis. He has also been on the editorial boards for multiple online and published journals including Osteoarthritis and Cartilage and the Journal of Clinical Rheumatology.. Dr Lozada has served in volunteer positions for many organizations including the boards of directors of American College of Rheumatology, the Rheumatology Research Foundation, the US Bone and Joint Decade, and, most recently, ILAR and PANLAR, where he is currently immediate Past President. -
