I am a Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami working in the area of genomics in multiple myeloma, utilizing primary patient material and modified cell lines to determine the effect of genomic abnormalities on the biology and outcome of the disease. I have published over 140 manuscripts in the field of myeloma and related areas, mostly relating to genomics involving patient samples and clinical trials to determine prognostic markers and mechanisms of action. I have been the translational chair for the Barlogie-Salmon Myeloma Committee at SWOG since 2018 and have been involved in clinical trial biobanking and translational research studies for over 20 years.
