Teaching Interests
My teaching endeavors are both clinical and research. I provide clinical education for young physicians training to become Pediatric Critical Care Medicine doctors. I also provide clinical education for Pediatric residents rotating through the PICU. Separately, I have had PICU fellows join me in my research projects teaching them laboratory bench skills related to immunology. -
Research Interests
My research focuses on the use of a specific subpopulation of lymphocytes called regulatory T cells or (Tregs). We are manipulating Tregs and using them as cellular therapies to treat rejection or graft versus host disease. My research uses preclinical models to determine Treg cellular therapies that may translate to the clinical bedside. My long term research goal is to improve the lives of children who require a solid organ transplant or a hematopoietic stem cell transplant. -
