Biography
I was born in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil. I did my internship and Radiology Residency at The Grace Hospital in Detroit, Michigan followed by a fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital and remined as an attending Radiologist from 1976-1988; we relocated to William Beaumont Hospital- Royal Oak in 1988 and to the University of Miami in 2003.
I have always been involved in Radiology education, opting for jobs with Radiology Residency. I was awarded the American College of Radiology fellowship based on my educational efforts and other merits. This was a highlight of my career.
Over my professional life I have mentored many Brazilians’ medical students and radiology residents seeking further education in the United States. In recognition for these efforts I was bestowed an Honorary Membership to the Medical Academy of Ceara (my home state).
Raising to the rank of Clinical Professor of Radiology at the University of Miami was a major conquest, which I treasure. -
