Dr. Ayham Alkhachroum is an assistant professor of Neurology at University of Miami. He received his medical degree from University of Aleppo school of medicine. After completing his training in Neurology and in Clinical Neurophysiology at Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Alkhachroum completed his training in Neurocritical Care at New York-Presbyterian hospitals of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Cornell University in 2019. He earned his leadership in medical education at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Alkhachroum provides care for patients with acute brain and spine injury in the Neurocritical Care Units at University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospitals. He is board certified in Neurology, Neurophysiology and Critical Care Electroencephalogram. He has published multiple articles, book chapters and reviews in leading journals in the field. Dr. Alkhachroum’s research focus is the use of EEG and multimodality monitoring to measure brain function and predict neurological recovery in acute brain injury patients using novel machine learning techniques.
