Teaching Interests
As I progressed through my residency and fellowship training, I began to pick up on teaching methods that I found effective in solidifying concepts and improving communication with trainees. I have employed the preoperative briefing and postoperative debriefing educational model as I feel it allows the learner to have clearly identifiable learning objectives before a case and facilitates guided learning. The learner is able to think about the indications for the operation, the approach to the operation and pertinent anatomy, along with allowing for a chance for questions/ debriefing. Specifically for resident teaching, the Zwisch model has proven to be an effective and safe way of training and assess residents’ comfort with the technical components of an operation. -
Research Interests
My interests encompass oral cavity cancer, MRONJ, ORN and microvascular reconstruction of the head and neck . -
