Biography
Dr. Andres Arturo Pulido-Wilches is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, specializing in nuclear medicine, neuroradiology, and emergency radiology. He joined the University of Miami faculty following completion of multiple fellowships at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, reflecting a breadth of expertise across several advanced imaging subspecialties.
Dr. Pulido earned his Doctor of Medicine from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, where he also completed his internship year. He went on to complete a diagnostic radiology residency at Universidad ICESI–Fundación Valle del Lili University Hospital, where he distinguished himself as an award-winning trainee and later served as a clinical instructor in radiology and anatomy.
After moving to the United States, Dr. Pulido pursued further postgraduate training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Between 2021 and 2025, he completed four fellowships in neuroradiology, nuclear medicine (two separate years), and emergency radiology, culminating in advanced preparation across multiple domains of diagnostic and molecular imaging.
His research and academic work span nuclear medicine, oncologic imaging, trauma radiology, and advanced neuroradiology. He has co-authored peer-reviewed publications in Current Problems in Diagnostic Radiology and contributed to educational exhibits and case reports presented at national and international meetings, including the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR), and American College of Radiology (ACR) Case in Point series. His work has addressed topics such as renal scintigraphy, temporal bone emergencies, paragangliomas, and acute orbital trauma.
Throughout his training, Dr. Pulido earned multiple awards for academic excellence and scholarly work, including recognition for best printed and digital posters at the Colombian Congress of Radiology and the distinction of “Hospital’s Best Radiology Resident” at Fundación Valle del Lili. He also received the Grupo Suramericana scholarship for academic excellence during residency.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Pulido has served as an instructor in radiology and anatomy and as a certified BLS/ACLS instructor. His professional memberships include the Radiological Society of North America, Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, American Society of Emergency Radiology, American College of Nuclear Medicine, and the American Society of Neuroradiology.
At the University of Miami, Dr. Pulido brings his diverse expertise to the Department of Radiology, where he is committed to advancing nuclear medicine and neuroradiology, mentoring residents and fellows, and contributing to innovative imaging research that improves patient care. -
