  Dr Farooq boasts a deeply articulate and analytical mind. The fact that his role as a mentor and educator stands in a league of its own should not be lost on anyone. Not only did his former PhD students in his laboratory graduate with an average time of less than 4 years but each one also did so with dozens of papers in premier scientific journals. Add to that the fact that Dr Farooq also developed an innovative Biochemistry course that challenged undergraduate and premed students to think laterally rather than memorize biochemical concepts.

  In addition to being a biophysicist with wide-ranging interests in understanding the structure and function of proteins at atomic level, Dr Farooq has also recently been struck by tons of data on how human civilization ebbs and flows in a wave-like (or cyclical) manner over a period of what he believes to be 84 years. Accordingly, he has become increasingly curious in unearthing the causes and effects of what he calls the oqual cycle on human society.
