Biography
Dr. Allen Sanchez is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he has served on the faculty since 2017. He holds clinical appointments at both UHealth and Jackson Health System, specializing in emergency, trauma, and musculoskeletal imaging.
Dr. Sanchez earned his medical degree through the University of Miami’s Medical Scholars Program and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Weill Cornell Medical Center–New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident and received the Distinguished House Staff Award. He then completed a fellowship in Emergency and Musculoskeletal Radiology at Weill Cornell before returning to Miami.
His academic contributions include co-authoring book chapters and multiple peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Radiology, Topics in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and the European Journal of Radiology. His research has focused on trauma imaging, emergent neuroimaging, musculoskeletal pathology, and radiology’s role in detecting elder abuse. He is also a co-author of a book chapter on hepatobiliary and pancreatic imaging in Evidence-Based Practices in Gastrointestinal, Colorectal and Hepatobiliary Surgery.
Dr. Sanchez is a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society and the American Board of Radiology. He remains committed to advancing emergency and trauma imaging while teaching and mentoring radiology trainees at the University of Miami. -
