Dr. Allan E. Rodríguez is a Professor of Clinical Medicine in the division of Infectious Diseases with a secondary appointment in the Department of Public Health Sciences and School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine He is currently the director of the Population Engagement Core of the Miami CFAR and Co-Director of the Mental Health Dispaties Core of the UM Center for HIV and Research in Mental Health. He is the Operational Director of the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center (UM/JMMC) Adult HIV Outpatient Clinic and directs the Rapid Treatment program for the UM/JMMC clinic. The clinic serves over 3,000 HIV-infected patients.
Dr. Rodríguez is actively involved in HIV/AIDS research and has participated as a principal investigator, co-investigator, and collaborator in numerous government-sponsored trials addressing multiple aspects of HIV/AIDS infection. His main research interests include HIV infection in minorities, HIV in drug users, antiretroviral therapies, access to care, and complications of HIV/AIDS. He has a history of engaged, collaborative community research with well established relationships with Miami Dade County community organizations, key community liaisons and stakeholders.
