Biography
Dr. Alessandra Albini is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Miami, with a special focus on cardiothoracic imaging. She currently holds the position of Residents Rotation Director and Fellowship Program Director at the University of Miami Health System/Jackson Memorial Hospital, starting in June 2024.
Dr. Albini earned her MD from Universita’ della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli in Naples, Italy. She completed multiple fellowships at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, specializing in areas such as cardiothoracic imaging, neuroradiology, and body MRI. She has also gained experience as a radiologist in Italy and as a visiting fellow at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center.
Certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Albini is also licensed in both the U.S. (Florida and Pennsylvania) and Italy. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and abstracts in the field of radiology and cardiology, with a particular focus on cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Albini has delivered lectures and presented her research at international conferences. She has received various honors and awards, including a Certificate of Merit at the Radiology Society of North America (RSNA) 106th Annual Meeting.
Dr. Albini's contributions to medical imaging are supported by her involvement in research and professional organizations, including the Society of Thoracic Radiology and the American Medical Association. She is actively engaged in teaching and mentoring the next generation of radiologists at the University of Miami. -
