Adriana Dejman, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Katz Family Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Miami. She earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela – Escuela José María Vargas in 2010, followed by an Internal Medicine residency (2012–2015) and a Nephrology & Hypertension fellowship (2015-2017) at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami.
Dr. Dejman joined the faculty after fellowship and was awarded an International Society of Peritoneal Dialysis grant to train at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, further advancing her expertise in peritoneal dialysis. She left briefly to Texas, and since returning to the University of Miami in 2019, has led the growth of its peritoneal dialysis program—now the largest in South Florida—and established a remarkable biorepository for proteomic and metabolomic analysis of peritoneal membrane tissue. A strong advocate for patient education and home-based dialysis therapies, Dr. Dejman focuses on improving access, outcomes, and quality of life for patients choosing peritoneal dialysis.
