Biography
Dr. Adam Lloyd is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the department of Otolaryngology, Division of Speech Pathology. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of voice and upper airway disorders. He works collaboratively with Frost School of Music, teaching and engaging in research projects involving vocal pedagogy and vocal health. Dr. Lloyd is also part of the multidisciplinary team providing inclusive care for the LGBTQ+ community, specializing in voice modifications for gender diverse persons. (LGBTQ Services at UHealth). Dr. Lloyd has special training in yoga and utilizes these skills in his teaching, research, therapy, and evaluation practice. -

Adam Lloyd’s teaching interests center on the integration of clinical science, vocal pedagogy, and experiential learning in the preparation of future speech-language pathologists, voice clinicians, and singing teachers. He is particularly interested in voice disorders, upper airway disorders, professional voice care, clinical reasoning, and interdisciplinary approaches that connect healthcare and the performing arts. Through classroom instruction, clinical education, and mentorship, he emphasizes evidence-based practice, collaborative care, and the development of practical skills that prepare learners to serve diverse patient and performer populations.?? -

Adam Lloyd's research explores the intersection of voice science, clinical care, and vocal performance. His work focuses on vocal health and injury prevention, outcomes of voice rehabilitation, professional voice users, gender-affirming voice care, and interdisciplinary models of care that bring together speech-language pathology, otolaryngology, and vocal pedagogy. He has led and collaborated on studies examining vocal pathology in singers, voice-related quality of life, respiratory strength training, and factors that influence vocal function and performance across diverse populations.
