Welcome to the Department of Interventional Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Our department is built on a foundation of providing the highest clinical care, developing impactful innovations, and launching the next generation of physicians, researchers and leaders.
With great foresight, the Miller School has recognized Interventional Radiology as an independent department. As a standalone department, interventional radiology has the focus, resources and leadership required to advance patient care, education and innovation while also shaping the future of the field. Our vision is to establish interventional radiology as a true clinical specialty that supports patients throughout their health care journey.
Rather than serving solely as a procedural service, we provide continuity of care from diagnosis through treatment and long-term follow-up. A cornerstone of that mission is our close partnership with Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. As interventional oncology continues to expand, our physicians play an integral role in cancer care, providing diagnostic biopsies, pain management and minimally invasive therapies such as tumor ablation. We see tremendous opportunity to continue growing these services and expanding access to advanced treatments for patients throughout South Florida and beyond.
To achieve that growth, we embrace a culture of innovation and collaboration. We are committed to bringing new technologies to the department while building multidisciplinary partnerships across the University, including engineering, business and other clinical specialties.
