Procedures

The following neuroendovascular procedures are offered in the management of the conditions listed under Interventional Neurology Services: Acute mechanical and chemical intracranial thrombolysis (MERCI and PENUMBRA systems), Intracranial Stenting, Carotid Stenting, Vertebral and Subclavian Stenting, Pre-Operative Head and Neck Tumor Embolization, Aneurysm Embolization, AVM and Dural AVF Embolization, Wada Testing for Pre-Surgical Work-Up of Epilepsy,IPSS (Inferior Petrosal Sinus Sampling)

Services

Patients can be seen on a purely consultative basis with recommendations made to the referring physician, or for continuing care if desired. If inpatient evaluation is needed, patients will be admitted to our teaching service at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where the resident staff functions under our direct supervision.

Education

The fellowship in general neurology will consist of 1 year of intensive exposure to all aspects of diseases of the nervous system, both central and peripheral, inpatient and outpatient.

Education

The Headache fellowship offered at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Department of Neurology is accredited by the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialties. The headache program includes clinical as well as didactic training in the diagnosis and comprehensive management of primary and secondary headache disorders, both in adults and children.
