Research Focus

Our research seeks to discover new drugs to treat illnesses such as rare genetic disorders, cancer, inflammation, immune diseases, and neuroscience conditions such as addiction, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Our researchers use modern drug discovery methods to learn more about disease-related biological processes. We run the Molecular Therapeutics Shared Resource (MTSR) at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, which offers preclinical drug discovery and development services to researchers interested in turning their findings into actual disease treatments — a major goal of a vast majority of human-oriented research.

Our work principally aims to build a greater understanding of disease and inform our ultimate purpose — to translate discoveries into innovative new treatments that improve the lives of those suffering from disease.
