M.S. in Clinical and Translational Investigation

Advance your research career with the MSCTI!

The M.S. in Clinical and Translational Investigation (MSCTI) prepares the next generation of scientists to review, design, and conduct high-quality clinical and translational research. Through a flexible, individualized course of study, you will be fully supported on your path to becoming an independent researcher.

The MSCTI is designed for practicing physicians, current and future research professionals who are interested in a clinical and translational track. For those interested in conducting research, the program provides a structure for deepening and expanding research knowledge and skills, as well as connecting with peers and potential research partners. Our program emphasizes a team science approach and encourages collaboration across disciplines.

Connect and learn from our world-renowned, multi-disciplinary faculty. Learn the foundational principles of research, including biostatistics, research design and methodology, and even grant writing. Work alongside peers pursuing common interests and top clinicians and researchers in various fields. Solve real-world problems by exploring research questions. Bring these research ideas back to improve the health of more patients.

What is Translational Research?

Translation is the process of turning observations in the laboratory, clinic, and community into interventions that improve the health of individuals and the public—from diagnostics and therapeutics to medical procedures and changes in behavior and public health policy. Translational science is the field of investigation focused on understanding the scientific and operational principles underlying each translational process step.
