The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) Preparation Program is designed to assist premedical students from historically minoritized backgrounds prepare for the MCAT. This is a seven-week, virtual program that runs from Monday, June 6 - Friday, July 22, 2022. Students applying should be committed to taking the MCAT and applying to medical school by Spring 2023. Highly recommended for students who plan on taking MCAT within one year. Accepted students are required to fully participate in the pro-gram. Other activities are highly discouraged.

Independent study time to work individually or in groups
Participation in supplemental workshops to help prepare students to apply to medical school

Establish peer group with like-minded individuals
No cost for accepted students to attend
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Historically minoritized students who are disproportionately represented in medicine which include: African American, Latino-Hispanic, American Indian/Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander AND/OR students from economically or educationally disinvested backgrounds (such as first-generation, single parent or low-income household)
US citizen, US permanent resident, or DACA recipient
College sophomore, junior, senior, master’s student, or recent college or master’s graduate (within the last two years)
Completed at least two years of undergraduate science or premed coursework (must have taken Organic Chemistry)
Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
**NOTE: Daily access to a laptop and WIFI will be required for the duration of the program.

Applications will be reviewed once complete, and all supporting documents must be submitted by the application deadline. Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

IMPORTANT: Letters of recommendation should be submitted on official letterhead and at least one letter must come from a science professor. All letters of recommendation must be emailed by the recommender directly to the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement at diversityoffice@med.miami.edu, by March 4, 2022 to be considered.
