Professional Services at Jackson Memorial Health Systems

Division of Laboratory Medicine
The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is a key part of the team of the talented physicians of the University of Miami that support the mission of the Jackson Health System (JHS) to build the health of the local community by providing a high standard of quality care.

The Pathology Laboratories at the JHS provide diagnostic services to Jackson Memorial Hospital, Jackson South, and Jackson North Medical Centers.  Annually, approximately 25,000 surgical pathology specimens, 9,000 cytology samples, and 27,000 clinical tests are processed. Our main location (Jackson Memorial Hospital) serves as the principal teaching hospital for the Pathology GME residency and fellowship programs under the supervision of the faculty members from the department.
