PD Brain Tissue Donation Program

To advance our understanding of Parkinson disease, the University of Miami Udall PDRCE has initiated a Parkinson Disease Brain Tissue Donation Program. By comparing brain tissue of individuals diagnosed with PD to those who do not have PD, we hope to learn information that will lead to better diagnostic methods, improved treatments, and ultimately, prevention of many of the disabling symptoms of Parkinson disease. Enrolling individuals make arrangements with the program and brain tissue is collected at the time of the death. Participants must be enrolled in the program before the time of death.

Currently, the program accepts enrollment from these individuals who are:

• 18 years of age or older
• Individuals diagnosed with PD or Parkinsonism
• Unaffected family members of individuals diagnosed with PD
• Unrelated individuals with no neurologic disorder
