Proposal Development/Tracking
Proposal Development
-
InfoEd’s Proposal Development module provides investigators with an online portal for preparing, submitting and tracking their grant applications. The easy to use software streamlines the administrative effort involved in preparing proposals and offers useful new functionality for managing research grants.
-
Browser-based module provides a unifying online hub for collaborative application preparation allowing individuals to contribute from either Macs or PCs from on and offsite.
User-friendly interface with field level help, links to product manuals, and integrated email support. -
Proposal Development provides a universal application template for all sponsor applications. The consistent interface standardizes navigation, reducing training requirements, and enabling cross-sponsor reporting.
-
InfoEd’s Auto-Fill utility can conveniently load standard personnel and organizational details into new proposals upon creation, reducing effort and improving data quality.
Upload supporting materials (e.g. research plans; study protocols; bio-sketches; etc.). -
Link proposals to InfoEd compliance protocols (e.g. Human Studies; Animal Studies; and Environmental Safety) to enable real-time protocol status tracking and provide convenient navigation between associated records.
-
The Proposal Development module has built-in support for electronic system-to-system submissions. InfoEd is committed to supporting and maintaining electronic submissions to major sponsors in all the countries in which it operates, with the priorities being set by InfoEd’s customers. For a current list of supported programs please check the InfoEd website.
-
System-to-system support includes embedded sponsor-scheme rules that can automatically expand or collapse data collection, apply sponsor validations, and enforce page limits on uploaded documents according to each program’s published instructions.
-
For proposals that are not system-to-system capable, InfoEd provides a form mapping utility that can merge the system’s proposal data with a customer configured sponsor template to render a PDF file of the application.
-
Proposal Development provides an intelligent budgeting tool that automatically loads appropriate organizational and personnel details (e.g. payroll; benefits; overhead rates; etc.), enforces sponsor rules (e.g. allowable budget categories; salary caps; category caps; etc.), and checks each participants planned effort allocations against current submitted and committed projects.
-
Upon submission records are automatically checked for completeness. Incomplete records are disallowed with missing items highlighted.
The module features an electronic routing and approval mechanism for departmental reviews, which then feeds the Proposal Tracking module.
Proposal Tracking
InfoEd’s Proposal Tracking module provides comprehensive support for managing grants and contracts from pre-award to post award. The intuitive Web-based software puts information at the fingertips of busy research administrators so they can keep up with increasing submission activity and expanding compliance requirements.
-
Proposal Tracking inherits all submission details from the Proposal Development module, eliminating redundant data entry (e.g. personnel; budgets; documents; etc.).
The module provides a centralized s2s dashboard for at-a-glance monitoring of all electronic submissions from the Proposal Development module, enabling the centralized management of related communications. -
In addition to recording proposal details, Proposal Tracking provides for the capture of administrative details surrounding the application (e.g. proposal type; status history; submission date; sponsor/scheme information; personnel notes; etc.).
-
Add any number of user-defined fields (e.g. pick lists; check boxes; radial buttons; text boxes; and numeric fields) to any page in the Proposal Tracking module to accommodate unique institutional requirements.
-
The system can track the status, terms and conditions, documents and communication history of every agreement related to a proposal.
-
As a standalone product, Proposal Tracking has all of the same budgeting features that are built into the Development module plus the added capability of capturing award information. Awards can be developed from scratch or simply cloned from the requested budget.
-
Tracking preserves the requested budget discrete from award information so users can perform variance reporting. Award data can in turn be shared seamlessly with InfoEd’s post award modules, which are capable of establishing accounts within an institution’s enterprise financial system and pulling back transaction activity for active account balances.
