UHealth Travel Medicine Clinic Opens

Starting today, the UHealth Travel Medicine Clinic is open to UM faculty and staff, and their dependents, who need itinerary-specific medical advice and vaccinations for any travel, including business, personal or educational trips.

Clinic personnel are trained to administer country-appropriate immunizations, give advice on health concerns endemic to any country, and provide detailed prevention strategies for insect-borne diseases, such as malaria, dengue fever and Japanese B encephalitis, and food and water-borne illnesses, such as traveler’s diarrhea and high-altitude sickness.

Clinic visits are by appointment only, and although not required, it is advisable to schedule appointments four to six weeks prior to your departure to allow for vaccines that are not immediately effective, or require multiple doses.

To schedule an appointment, or for more information on the travel clinic, located at the Professional Arts Center Building, suite 708, visit www.UHealthTravel.com or call 305-243-TRIP (8747).
