Schedule a Flu Shot Session for Your Group

UHealth annual influenza vaccination is a safety priority and in the best interest of our patients and our employees. We are asking everyone in the UHealth community to get a flu shot. We can come to you!

For large departments, one of the best ways to get to compliance quickly is to organize a vaccination session dedicated to your group. For this program, you’ll need 10 or more people to participate.

Environmental Health has already done dozens of group sessions and has dozens more on the schedule. Richard J. Cote, M.D., professor and Joseph R. Coulter, Jr. Endowed Chair in Pathology, professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, and Director of BioNIUM, has this to say about the value of group vaccinations: “Since the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is located in multiple areas across the Medical Campus, we organized several dates and times for our faculty, staff, residents and fellows to get their flu vaccination, including at our monthly faculty meeting and residents/fellows meeting, and at our various lab sites. We had a fantastic turnout and the team from Environmental Health were very accommodating to our schedules. All of the events were a success! This was our third year to organize this and we will definitely continue doing this.”

We can consider requests for group sessions at Medical, Gables and RSMAS Campuses. Environmental Health can support group sessions through November 2, 2015. To request support for a group vaccination session, please contact Environmental Health via email at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or by calling them at 305-243-3267.

If you don’t have a large group or do not want to organize a group event, you can access information on locations and schedules here.

As always, you are welcome to get vaccinated elsewhere. All you need to do is submit proof of vaccination in order to be noted as compliant for this flu season. Send proof of vaccination to Employee Health at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or fax them at 305-243-2393.

All the information you need about the seasonal flu vaccine is on the Environmental Health site here.

The most important thing you can do to protect your health — and that of others — this fall and winter is to get a flu shot now. Thank you for your contribution to keeping our patients, families and those who support them safe.
