Sylvester Team Wins Patient Safety Awareness Week Poster Contest
A team from Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Surgical Oncology Department has won the Grand Prize in UHealth’s Patient Safety Awareness Week Poster Contest.
The Sylvester department’s entry was one of more than 50 submitted by teams from across the UHealth system. Entries were judged based on creativity, alignment of message, and presentation. The judges selected five finalists — one each from Sylvester, UHealth Tower, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the Lennar Foundation Medical Center and the UHealth clinics — and the Grand Prize winner was selected from that group of finalists.
The judges were Yvonne M. Diaz, M.D., chief academic officer for UHealth, Gustavo L. Fernandez, M.D., associate chief medical officer/associate director for clinical affairs for UHealth, Tanira B. Ferreira, M.D., chief medical officer for UM Hospital and Clinics, W. Jarrard Goodwin, M.D., chief medical officer for Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and David Sinclair, M.D., M.B.A., chief patient safety and quality officer for UHealth.
“Congratulations to Sylvester’s Surgical Oncology Department for winning the UHealth Poster Contest Grand Prize!” said Sinclair. “Thank you to all of the participants for showcasing exemplary teamwork and creativity.”
