Sylvester Has Major Presence at Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center had a significant presence at this year’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on the morning of October 17. Sylvester experts and researchers led an emotional survivors’ procession, followed by remarks from Felicia Knaul, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the Miller School of Medicine and Director of the Miami Institute for the Americas, and Carmen Calfa, M.D., breast oncologist at Sylvester at Plantation. The organizers of the race said $2 million was raised for breast cancer research.
