Join The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis in Honoring Some of Sports’ Greatest Legends

Join us on Monday, September 24, at the Great Sports Legends Dinner, which benefits The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, the fundraising arm of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. The annual event, held at the famed Waldorf=Astoria in New York City, pays tribute to philanthropic heroes and sports legends who inspire and motivate those affected by spinal cord injuries. The much-anticipated event assembles celebrities and corporate leaders who support the efforts of the Buoniconti Family.

Among the legends who will be honored are: basketball’s Shaquille O’Neal, baseball’s Joe Torre and Tony Perez, football’s Marshall Faulk, boxing’s Jake La Motta, NASCAR’s Mark Martin, golf’s Lorena Ochoa, and women’s basketball’s Lisa Leslie. Miami music producer Emilio Estefan will receive The Outstanding Business Leader Award and retired Miami Heat star Alonzo Mourning will receive The Buoniconti Fund Award. NBC Sports’ Bob Costas will serve as emcee and Grammy Award winning Earth, Wind & Fire will perform in support of Nick and Marc Buoniconti and their mission to cure paralysis.

Past sports legends and honorees include: Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, Magic Johnson, Dan Marino, Joe DiMaggio, Mario Andretti, Wayne Gretzky, Jack Nicklaus, Nancy Kerrigan, John Elway, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, Mickey Mantle, Tony Hawk, Dorothy Hamill, Evander Holyfield, Jerry Rice, Lennox Lewis, Andre Agassi, Cal Ripken, Gloria Estefan, Walter Cronkite, Bill Parcells and many more.
