Plans are Moving Forward For UHealth at Coral Gables
In the fall of 2013, UHealth at Coral Gables will open on the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus. The new facility will increase access to medical services and meet the health care needs of the University’s 13,000 employees and more than 15,000 students, as well as providing state-of-the-art academic medicine to residents of Coral Gables and surrounding communities.
The 225,000-square-foot, four-story building will have more than 135 exam rooms, including eight urgent care rooms and a full imaging center. Physicians from the Miller School of Medicine will provide primary care, outpatient surgery, sports medicine, student health services and other key programs.
In addition, ophthalmologists from Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and cancer specialists from Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center will see patients at the center providing comprehensive multidisciplinary care.
UHealth at Coral Gables will be located on Ponce De Leon Boulevard, adjacent to the Flipse Building. Clinical services will be provided Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with urgent care services available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.
