Miller School Raises Funds and Awareness for Autism

UHealth Pediatrics and the John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics teamed up for Walk Now for Autism on Sunday, February 27, at JC Bermudez Park in Doral.

Nearly 70 walkers from both the Hussman Institute and UHealth Pediatrics raised $1,760 for Autism Speaks, the nation’s largest autism science and advocacy organization dedicated to funding autism research.

The walk also raised community awareness about research conducted at the Hussman Institute on genetic factors associated with autism and autism spectrum disorders and the research-backed, multidisciplinary care provided to children and families at the Mailman Center for Child Development.
