Leading Ophthalmologists Attend Bascom Palmer’s 34th Inter-American Course
Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the No. 1 ranked eye hospital in the nation, welcomed more than 700 ophthalmologists from more than 30 countries November 18-21 for its XXXIV Inter-American Course in Clinical Ophthalmology, an advanced course offering the latest practical approaches to select clinical problems.
Program Directors Eduardo C. Alfonso, M.D., Professor and Chair of Bascom Palmer, Paul Palmberg, M.D., Ph.D., professor of ophthalmology, and Victor L. Perez, M.D., associate professor of ophthalmology, joined special guest speakers from across the U.S., South America, and the Caribbean to discuss corneal and external eye diseases, cataracts, glaucoma, refractive surgery, pediatric and neuro-ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and ocular surface diseases.
Held at the InterContinental Miami, the course, which was offered simultaneously in English and Spanish, also featured a trade show with more than 50 commercial exhibitors.
Bascom Palmer hosts the course and trade show each year following the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s annual meeting.
