Join Us for a Community Event at The Lennar Foundation Medical Center This Sunday
The University of Miami Health System is hosting a community-wide grand opening celebration at The Lennar Foundation Medical Center on the Coral Gables campus this Sunday, January 29, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to bring their family and friends to see UHealth’s spectacular new home for the health care of the future.
The Sunday celebration will feature tours of the facility, a chance to meet UHealth experts, prize drawings, music, stage shows and dance competitions, mad scientist shows, visits from mascots, including Sebastian the Ibis, appearances by UM athletes and cheerleaders, face painting, photo booths, and food and refreshments.
Last month Lennar opened its doors to patients from throughout the University, Coral Gables and South Dade, for services from Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and other UHealth specialty areas including women’s and men’s centers, a comprehensive diabetes center, cardiology, primary care, urology, physical therapy, neurology, otolaryngology and more.
The center has been designed to provide a relaxing, healing, streamlined patient experience. Patients and their families are welcomed by floor-to-ceiling windows, a roof garden, performances by students from the Frost School of Music, valet parking or free self-parking next door, a Walgreens pharmacy, and soon a healthy café.
